All former U.S.S. Howard W. Gilmore AS-16 sailors are eligible to join the U.S.S. Howard W. Gilmore Memorial Association (HWGMA)

Dues are $20.00 per year

The HWGMA is a fine fraternal organization made up of almost 200 members from all walks of life and all parts of the country who share a common experience, U.S. Navy service aboard "The Happy Howard", U.S.S. Howard W. Gilmore AS-16. 

The bi-annual reunion is a very popular and well attended event, the last one was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan in September 2023. Sea stories are told and re-told.  Most interesting is finding out what trades and professions our Shipmates pursued after leaving the Navy.
